ABOUT THE ARTIST
Pierre Alechinsky, born in 1927 in Brussels, is a Belgian painter and printmaker, and a major figure in contemporary art. A member of the CoBrA group (1949–1951), he developed a style blending expressionism with Asian influences. His works, often characterized by organic forms and free-flowing lines, are celebrated for their energy and inventiveness. He moved to France in 1951, where he pursued an international career. Today, Alechinsky is acclaimed for his unique contribution to both abstract and figurative art.
