PARVINE
CURIE
1936 - Today
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Parvine Curie was born in Nancy on February 3, 1936. She is a French non-figurative sculptor belonging to the New School of Paris. In 1957, her discovery of Catalan Romanesque art led her to live mainly in that country until 1969. She practiced sculpture as a self-taught artist, following the advice of sculptor Marcel Marti. Together they had a son, the poet and painter David Marti (1959-2007). Returning to Paris in 1970, she took up a studio at the Cité Internationale des Arts. She developed a quest for harmony between architecture, man and nature.
