KEITH
HARING
1958 - 1990
Keith Haring developed a love for drawing at a very early age, learning basic cartooning skills from his father and from popular culture around him, such as Dr. Seuss and Walt Disney. He was a popular artist and activist who was part of the legendary New York art scene during the 80s. While he is known for his colorful works and his iconic motifs such as the radiant baby and the barking dog, much of his work responded to contemporary social and political events.
