JACOTTE
CAPRON
1935 -
Jacqueline Hubin, better known as Jacotte Capron, was born in 1935 and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nantes. During a holiday in the south of France, she undertook an internship with ceramicist Roger Capron. They married shortly afterwards, beginning a collaboration that lasted 50 years, until Roger’s death in 2006.
As the colorist behind her husband’s creations, Jacotte Capron explored the tones and nuances of ceramics, creating abstract compositions through harmonious combinations of dark and light, matte and glossy, vivid and muted colors.
Through her expertise and creativity, she made a significant contribution to Roger Capron’s work while developing her own distinctive artistic identity.
