JACQUES POUCHAIN
L'ATELIER DIEULEFIT
1925 - 2025
After studying architecture, Jacques Pouchain quickly devoted himself to painting. A masterful ceramicist, he placed the functionality of the object at the service of a fertile imagination, while developing a strong interest in abstraction as a painter.
A regular artist at Galerie S Emiliani in Dieulefit, he also exhibited at Galerie Polack in Montpellier and Galerie Sassi-Milicci in Vallauris. His work was presented at the Salon des Indépendants, the Salon de la Ville de Paris, the International Biennial of Art Ceramics, as well as in numerous museums and galleries.
His work is characterized by authenticity, sincerity, and artistic maturity. Through powerful materiality and often monochromatic colors worked in depth, Pouchain’s paintings evoke fissures, ruptures, and wounds, mysterious spaces that draw the viewer in.
