French painter, engraver and sculptor, he is part of the Expressionist movement. He is best known for his aysages du Midi and his still-lifes of fish, painted with a brightly colored palette. A major figure in contemporary painting, Pierre Ambrogiani is one of the great Provencal masters of the modern era, whose output is estimated at over fifteen hundred canvases.
